WINTON ACADEMY CELEBRATES EXAM SUCCESS
Winton Academy is celebrating after GCSEs and equivalents were awarded across the country, with this year’s Year 11 cohort securing another strong set of results for the school.
Showcasing their academic prowess, 87% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, with just under three quarters (73%) of students achieving a grade 5 or above in the two subjects. Taking home the very top grades, one fifth (20%) of students achieved a grade 7 or above in both disciplines.
Among those marking standouts achievements are:
· Sam, who achieved nine grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7 and one grade 5;
· Joe, who achieved five grade 9s, five grade 8s and two grade 7s;
· Tom, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s, one grade 6 and one grade 5;
· Sam P, who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s, and one Level 2 Merit;
· Oscar, who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s;
· Sam H, who achieved three grade 9s, seven grade 8s and two grade 7s.
Also performing particularly well was the academy’s Head Boy, Andy, who joined the school as a refugee from Ukraine and has earned a highly impressive one grade 9, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and five grade 6s.
