As part of National Careers Week we were delighted to welcome Paul Bainsfair - Director General of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, and former CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, into the academies to deliver a talk to year 10 students. Paul comes with a wealth of experience in advertising, and the students felt honored to spend time learning from him.

Having lots of fun at Disneyland Paris! Our year 8 and 9 students headed to Paris for 'Maths Live!', which aims to encourage students to develop confidence in mathematics. This conference shows students how maths is used in the real world, from running the parks, designing and operating animatronics, planning and sustainability, and illusions and virtual reality. #gwproud

Today, we paused to remember Nathan Ridler, a much‑loved Glenmoor & Winton student who was taken from us far too soon. This morning, our students laid a wreath at Nathan’s memorial bench, a quiet moment of reflection to honour his life and the positive impact he had on all who knew him. Earlier this year, we also presented the Nathan Ridler Cup at our New Year Honours ceremony, celebrating the spirit, resilience and kindness that Nathan showed every day.

Washington Trip Day 4: After having a bit longer in bed this morning, we visited the Air & Space museum, did our final souvenir shopping and had lunch. In the afternoon we finished our fantastic tour of the US capital by visiting the Museum of American History. Everyone has had a lovely time. The group are now at Dulles airport awaiting their flight home.

Day 2 of Washington trip: morning walking tour of the monuments - cold, but fortunate to see some iconic sites. Holocaust museum after lunch, followed by the National Archives - where we saw the US Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and original Constitution.
Over 30,000 steps - but not one complaint #GWproud
