Exam Results

On 23 August 2024, Students at Winton Academy in Bournemouth celebrated after receiving a stellar set of GCSE results. 

At Winton Academy, 86% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in the two core subjects, with 73% achieving grade 5 or above in both subjects. 

Many of the school’s students secured a raft of the very top grades. From Winton Academy, they include: 

• Meletis, who achieved nine grade 9s; 
• Owen, who achieved eight grade 9s and three grade 8s; 
• Benedict, who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s; 
• Morgan, who achieved six grade 9s and four grade 8s; 
• Finn, who achieved five 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s. 

Alongside these successes, there were a number of students who overcame significant challenges to achieve well. At Winton Academy, Klym, a Ukrainian refugee who joined the school after fleeing the conflict, achieved ten passes at GCSE, including a grade 9 in Russian. 

Reflecting on the day, Leon Lima, Principal at Glenmoor and Winton Academies, said: 

“Congratulations to our students for yet another outstanding year of GCSE results! Their courage, dedication, and resilience have truly paid off, and we couldn't be prouder. This achievement is a testament to the commitment of our staff, the support of families, and most importantly, the determination of our students to excel. Together, we have built a community that celebrates success and nurtures every learner to reach their full potential. Well done to all!"
